A COMPLIMENT
One day you will get a compliment. Accept it without automatically disputing its reason. Just say “Thanks for the compliment,” or if you really need to word it differently, “Thank you, that means a lot to me.
CALL
One day you will call. Smile. They will hear it on the other side.
COMFORTING A FRIEND
One day you will comfort a friend. Don’t ask, “Is there anything I can do?” for that only shifts the burden of the good deed to your suffering friend. Take the initiative and do something helpful without asking in advance.
GAMBLING
One day you will be gambling. If you cannot easily accept the loss of the amount wagered, then stop betting and go home.
STARTING A NEW JOB
One day you will start a new job. Don’t assume your colleagues know what they’re doing just because they’ve been doing it for a long time.
CHEWING
One day you will be chewing. Finish what you are chewing before taking another bite.
